CEO, Okuma Kanko
WHO I AM
Born in Kumamoto, Tenkaiho is a former top-division sumo wrestler with 367 career wins and a highest rank of West Maegashira No. 8. Since retiring he has worked as a sumo commentator and founded Okuma Kanko Co., Ltd. with one wish: to open the doors of a real training stable to more people.
Known on television and YouTube for his warm, upbeat character, he works every day to bring sumo closer to people — and to help them fall in love with it.
WHAT I DO
The morning practice tour is a rare chance to experience the world of sumo, Japan’s national sport, with all your senses. We take you inside a real sumo stable for the morning session — something television can never convey. The thud of bodies colliding, the sweat flying, the tension in the room. Watch the wrestlers’ serious early-morning training up close and glimpse both Japanese tradition and the wrestlers’ daily lives.
YOUTUBE
Whether you already love sumo, are quietly curious, or have never had the chance to get close to it — this channel is here to make you go “Oh!” at how fun, and how tough, sumo really is.
